A Southern Kid's Rite of Passage

 The County Fair.

The Expert is out of town.  Well, out of "town" is a bit of an exaggeration.   In Australia.  Out of the side of the world.

The Gwinnett County Fair is in full swing.  The Expert hates the fair.  I have some pretty fond memories of the old trashy fair.  So I decided to take the kiddos this afternoon.

$5 entry for all of us?  What? That's a deal.

Then comes the tickets.  $1 per ticket.  Each ride is 3 tickets times 2 kids = $6 a pop.  Whoa.

4 rides, two ice creams, and a lemonade later... I am near broke, and no toys/prizes have been bought.  Oooops.

Luckily, I am able swindle a Carnie out of a Dora ball, two snake swords and a giant blow-up shark for the deal of the day: $8, and the last dollas I had to my name.

We had a great time.  :)   Really. :)
